This article will throw some light on the Food Corporation of India (FCI) Exams conducted by the Staff Selection Committee (SSC) to recruit candidates for the post of Assistant grade 3 (Technical).

The Food Corporation of India is one of the largest PSU’s of the nation, created and run by the central and state governments, with its headquarter at Delhi. The main objectives of the organization are to protect the interests of farmers, to effectively distribute the food grains, to ensure national food security, and to organize the market price of food grains. The food corporation of India gladly provides job opportunities to impassioned candidates who qualify the exams conducted once every year. The candidates recruited for FCI will not be given the status of central government civilian employees. Skilled candidates are recruited for four grade 3 posts and Assistant Grade 3 ( technical) is one among them.


  • Assuring food quality (with regard to moisture content, color, and pests) as per the specifications prescribed by the FCI. FCI purchases food grains only after the certification of the food grains by technical grade 3 assistants.
  • ensuring the quality of the procured food grains during storage.


AGE LIMIT– Maximum age limit is 27 years

UPPER AGE LIMIT RELAXATION– SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; PwD 10 years; PwD OBC 13 years; PwD SC/ST 15 years; Ex-servicemen (UR/General) 03 years; Ex-Servicemen (OBC) 06 years; Ex-servicemen (SC/ST) 08 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date; Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K 5 years (general), 8 years (OBC), SC/ST 10 years; Widows/divorced women/women judicially separated and who are not remarried-up to 35 years of age (general), up to 38 years of age (OBC), SC/ST up to 40 years of age; Employees of FCI-no age limit

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION– B.Sc. with any of the following subjects from a recognized university Botany/Zoology/Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science; or B.Tech/B.E. in Food Science/Food Science and Technology/Agricultural Engineering/Bio-Technology from a recognized university/an institution approved by AICTE; or B.Sc in Agriculture from a recognized university and Proficiency in use of Computers.
